International Symposium on
Process Organization Studies

A process perspective treats organizational life as continuously emerging through relationships and activity.

Grounded in process metaphysics, PROS asks how organizations become, change and persist. Its approach brings together a relational ontology, a performative epistemology and a dynamic praxeology: attention to relationships, knowledge through action, and the unfolding of practice.

Process research foregrounds agency, novelty and open-endedness. It examines how apparently stable outcomes are made and remade through situated activity, while acknowledging the complexity of the world.

Purpose and organisation

The symposium brings together research that develops and integrates process perspectives in organization and management studies. Its general track welcomes process-oriented work across organizational topics; its thematic track develops a different focus for each edition.

Since the first symposium in Pissouri in 2009, meetings have taken place across Greece and Cyprus, with an online edition in 2021. The archive preserves each gathering’s theme, people and available resources.

Colloquium on Philosophy
and Organization Studies

Philosophical inquiry opens up the concepts and assumptions through which we understand organizations.

PHILOS develops a philosophically informed organization studies, supporting both critique and new conceptual work. It welcomes researchers drawing on any philosophical perspective to question and advance understandings of organizational phenomena.

The colloquium is deliberately broad. It examines the frameworks, categories and ways of justifying knowledge that shape organizational research, without favouring a single school of philosophy.

Affiliated with PROS, PHILOS is intended to meet in the same week and venue. Each series retains its own programme, theme and edition numbering.
